Dhaka Capitals Finally Break Losing Streak with Record-Breaking Win Over Rajshahi
After six consecutive losses, Dhaka Capitals secured a commanding 149-run victory over Rajshahi Royals, setting a new record in the process. They posted an imposing target of 255 runs, and Rajshahi fell short, managing only 105 runs in their chase.
In the same match, Litton Das, who was omitted from the national squad for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy earlier in the day, made an emphatic comeback by scoring a brilliant century. Litton's explosive performance, combined with Tanzid Hasan Tamim's own century, guided Dhaka to a massive 254-run total, which is now the highest team total in BPL history.
Litton Das struck his first-ever BPL century in just 44 balls, ending with an unbeaten 125 runs from 55 balls. His strike rate was an impressive 227.27, with 10 fours and 9 sixes. This century also marked his first T20 century in a recognized competition. Tanzid Tamim supported him brilliantly, scoring 108 runs off 62 balls before being dismissed. Their partnership of 241 runs is the highest-ever for any wicket in BPL history.
The win was particularly sweet for Litton, who had been struggling with form in recent BPL matches and had even been dropped from the national team. However, he had made a solid 73-run contribution in the previous game, and this match saw him return to his best with an exceptional knock.
In the chase, Rajshahi Royals could not keep up with the required run rate, and they were bowled out for just 105 runs, giving Dhaka Capitals a massive 149-run win. This was the biggest victory in terms of runs in BPL history.
With this victory, Dhaka Capitals have broken their losing streak and regained momentum, while Rajshahi Royals were left to reflect on their heavy defeat.
