Heated Altercation Turns Physical Between Ripon Mondol and Tipese Ntuli in Four-Day Match

A tense and unexpected altercation unfolded on the second morning of the four-day second match between Bangladesh Emerging Team and South Africa Emerging Team. What began as a war of words escalated into a physical clash between Bangladesh batter Ripon Mondol and South African bowler Tipese Ntuli.

The incident occurred during the 105th over of Bangladesh’s innings at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Ripon Mondol launched Ntuli’s first delivery of the over for a six, which visibly angered the South African pacer.

As Bangladesh batters Mehdi Hasan and Ripon Mondol stood mid-pitch, Ntuli walked toward them, visibly agitated and mouthing words. Approaching closer, he suddenly shoved Ripon, escalating the situation. When Ripon questioned the aggression, Ntuli became even more enraged.

In a shocking move, Ntuli grabbed at Ripon’s helmet, attempting to pull it off while the umpires and players quickly intervened. Ripon tried to fend him off with his hands but managed to avoid further escalation.

Ntuli, however, did not back down easily, continuing to yell with an outstretched hand as the umpires and fellow players separated the two. Even after the confrontation, Ntuli appeared to struggle to regain composure.

Despite the heated moment, Ntuli returned to bowl the remainder of the over. At lunch, Ripon remained unbeaten on 42, while Mehdi was on 17. Bangladesh had reached 343/8 in 114 overs.
