Pakistan Clinch T20I Series with Dominant Win Over Bangladesh
Pakistan sealed the T20I series with one game to spare after crushing Bangladesh by 57 runs in the second match at the Gaddafi Stadium. Chasing a daunting 202-run target, Bangladesh crumbled from 44/0 to 77/7, eventually being bundled out for 144 runs.
Despite a fiery start from openers Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Parvez Hossain Emon, who took the team to 44 without loss in 3.2 overs, the middle order imploded spectacularly. Bangladesh scored 32 runs in the first two overs, with Tamim smashing 33 off 19 balls, including 5 fours and a six.
But once the opening stand was broken, the collapse began. Emon fell for 9, followed shortly by Tamim and skipper Liton Das, who departed for just 6. By the end of the powerplay, Bangladesh had lost 3 wickets for 54 runs.
The nightmare continued:
Towhid Hridoy (5) and Zakir Ali Anik (0) fell to Abrar Ahmed in a single over.
Shamim Hossain (7) and Rishad Hossain (0) added to the misery.
From 44/0, the Tigers slumped to 77/7.
Only Tanzim Hasan Sakib showed resistance at the death, scoring a career-best 50 off 30 balls. His late flourish merely reduced the margin of defeat.
Earlier, Pakistan once again posted 201/6, courtesy of:
Sahibzada Farhan: 76 (41 balls)
Mohammad Haris: 41 (25 balls)
Hasan Nawaz: 51* (26 balls)
Despite picking up two wickets each, Tanzim Sakib and Hasan Mahmud couldn't stem the run flow. Shoriful Islam left the field injured after just 3 balls, further weakening the attack.
With this victory, Pakistan takes an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, handing Bangladesh their second consecutive series loss after the UAE defeat.
