For the first time in cricket history, Nepal and the West Indies will face off in a three-match T20 International series. The matches are scheduled to be played on September 27, 28, and 30 at the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates.
Organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the series marks a significant milestone in Nepal’s cricket journey. It also serves as a crucial part of their preparation for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the growth of emerging cricketing nations through this initiative. Speaking about the series, CWI CEO Johnny Grave said:
“This series is more than just international matches—it is a celebration of the global expansion of cricket. As a Full Member nation, it is our responsibility to contribute to the growth of the game beyond our borders.”
Facing the star-studded and aggressive West Indies side is expected to be a valuable experience for Nepal, providing high-level competition ahead of their World Cup qualifiers. Both cricket boards believe the series will boost Nepal’s confidence and readiness.
CWI expressed its gratitude to the Cricket Association of Nepal and the Emirates Cricket Board for their cooperation in organizing the event. They hope such initiatives will enhance cricket’s global footprint and inspire enthusiasm for the sport in new regions.
