Towhid Hridoy’s Unimpressive Start in LPL 2024
Towhid Hridoy’s Unimpressive Start in LPL 2024
In the 2023 LPL (Lanka Premier League), Bangladesh’s Towhid Hridoy performed admirably. He scored 155 runs in 6 matches during his debut in the LPL. This time, Towhid Hridoy is playing for Dambulla Sixers, where he is joined by Mustafizur Rahman.
In the 2023 LPL, Towhid Hridoy managed to score a half-century. He accumulated runs at a strike rate of 135.96, hitting 14 fours and 5 sixes.
How Hridoy will fare in the 5th edition of the LPL remains to be seen, but his start was not promising at all. Today (July 1), against Kandy Falcons, Hridoy was dismissed for 1 run from 2 balls. He was trapped leg before wicket by Dasun Shanaka, and although the umpire initially did not give him out, Shanaka successfully reviewed the decision.
It’s noteworthy that in the opening match of LPL 2024, Kandy Falcons won the toss and elected to field first, sending Dambulla Sixers to bat. Towhid Hridoy and Mustafizur Rahman are included in the Dambulla squad.
