Faded Taskin and Shoriful in LPL, Both Teams Lost

The Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2024 is witnessing a flood of runs, with batters frequently scoring centuries and bowlers conceding runs generously. It was not a good day for Bangladesh's bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam on July 10, as both were expensive with the ball and their teams lost.

Taskin Ahmed is playing for Colombo Strikers in this year's LPL. He is the only Bangladeshi player in the team. On Wednesday, they suffered a 7-wicket defeat against Jaffna Kings.

Batting first, Colombo Strikers scored 188 runs for 8 wickets. With the bat, Taskin Ahmed remained unbeaten with 15 runs off 10 balls, hitting one four and one six.

However, he couldn't shine with the ball. Despite taking the wicket of Jaffna Kings' opener Pathum Nissanka early on, he conceded a lot of runs later. He gave away 38 runs in 3 overs, taking just that one wicket.

Jaffna Kings reached the target in 18.3 overs. This was Colombo's third defeat in their fifth match. On the other hand, it was Jaffna Kings' fourth win in their sixth match.

Meanwhile, Shoriful Islam is playing for Kandy Falcons. His team lost to Galle Marvels by 8 wickets on Wednesday.

Batting first, Kandy Falcons scored 187 runs for 9 wickets. Shoriful remained unbeaten with 1 run off 1 ball.

Despite scoring with the bat, Shoriful couldn't take any wickets with the ball. He bowled 2 overs, conceding 29 runs without taking a wicket.

Galle Marvels reached the target with 4 balls and 8 wickets in hand. Galle has won 4 out of their 6 matches, while Kandy has won only 2 out of their 6 matches.
