Miraz and Taijul Play Their 50th Test Match
The Bangladesh team has taken the field for the first Test against the West Indies at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. Regular captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, is absent from this Test series, and in his absence, Mehidy Hasan Miraz is leading the team. Miraz, in his Test captaincy debut, has reached another milestone, which is also shared by Taijul Islam.
Miraz and Taijul Islam have become the 8th and 9th Bangladeshi cricketers to play 50 or more Test matches.

It is noteworthy that in his Test captaincy debut in Antigua, Mehidy Hasan Miraz won the toss and opted to bowl first.
