Second Day of Afghanistan-New Zealand Test Cancelled Despite Sunny Weather
Second Day of Afghanistan-New Zealand Test Cancelled Despite Sunny Weather
The second day of the Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand has been cancelled despite sunny conditions. Although two days of the match have passed, the toss has yet to take place. The outfield was deemed unsuitable for play, and ground staff attempted to use electric fans and even replaced grass in some areas. Nevertheless, the match did not commence, and further waiting is required for the Test to start.
No toss occurred on the second day of the only Test between Afghanistan and New Zealand in Greater Noida. The first day was washed out due to heavy rainfall the previous night. The second day also saw no play due to the wet outfield.
In Greater Noida, electric fans were used to dry the wet outfield. Grass had been removed from half of the area, and practice pitch grass was used to cover those spots. Despite considerable efforts by the ground staff, the outfield was still not deemed suitable for play.
New Zealand players arrived at the ground around 12:25 PM, while the Afghanistan players did not arrive at the venue. By 2:55 PM, the play for the day was declared abandoned, but the toss had still not taken place.
The toss is scheduled to take place tomorrow morning at 9 AM.
