Pakistan's Test Squad Announcement Against Bangladesh
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced a 17-member squad for the Test series against Bangladesh today (August 7). This series is part of the ICC World Test Championship.
The first Test will be held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from August 21-25, and the second Test will begin in Karachi on August 30.
In a press release today, the Pakistan Cricket Board revealed the squad and stated that members would start training in Rawalpindi from August 11. The Bangladesh team is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on August 17.
Shan Masood has been named the captain of the 17-member Pakistan squad. Left-handed middle-order batter Saud Shakeel is the vice-captain. Shaheen Shah Afridi has been relieved from the vice-captaincy role considering workload management.
Out of the 17 members, 13 were part of the last Test series against Australia. Mohammad Huraira, Kamran Ghulam, and Mohammad Ali have earned their places through performances in domestic cricket. Naseem Shah has returned to red-ball cricket after 13 months.
Imam-ul-Haq, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Nauman Ali, and Sajid Khan have lost their places. Hasan Ali and Mohammad Wasim Jr. were not considered due to injuries.
