Pakistan Dominates the First Session on the Second Day in Rawalpindi
On the second day of the first Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi, the Pakistan cricket team had an outstanding first session. Bangladesh bowlers failed to take any wickets before lunch, and at the end of the first session on the second day, Pakistan's score was 256 for 4.
Pakistan began the second day's play with a score of 158 for 4. Saud Shakil and Mohammad Rizwan continued their responsible batting from the previous day. Due to their excellent performances, the Bangladeshi bowlers could not replicate their dominance from the first day. Despite significant efforts, the wickets of these two batsmen remained intact until the lunch break.
Both Saud Shakil and Mohammad Rizwan are nearing centuries. Shakil is unbeaten on 86 runs, while Rizwan is unbeaten on 89 runs. The partnership between these two has contributed 142 runs.
On the second day, captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto used spin bowlers for several overs. Although Shakib Al Hasan bowled economically, he did not manage to take any wickets. Mehedi Hasan Miraz and pacer Naheed Rana struggled to contain runs, allowing Pakistani batsmen to score at a relatively fast pace.
