Zimbabwe series will be very competitive: Shanto
The Bangladesh-Sri Lanka series is set to start tomorrow evening in Chittagong. The Bangladesh captain spoke at the official press conference the day before, mentioning their respect for Zimbabwe. According to Shanto, this five-match series will be quite competitive. Shanto cited Uganda as an example, emphasizing that in T20 cricket, there is no such thing as a big or small team.
When facing Zimbabwe, the Bangladesh squad should naturally feel somewhat comfortable. During the press conference, Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto said,
"In T20s, there's no big or small team. As you mentioned, Zimbabwe has lost to Uganda. However, not long ago, Zimbabwe defeated Sri Lanka. Thinking about it that way, it doesn't seem like there's much difference. It depends on how we play the match, how we prepare, and how we build our confidence. I can say that the series won't be easy. It will be a highly competitive series because they are also a very good team."
Shanto then shared where his team will focus more in the upcoming series.
"The team we are playing against and the team we played against in Sri Lanka are the same. Most players from this team will go to the World Cup if everyone remains healthy. Yes, one or two might change, but most will be from here. It's difficult to specifically say three or four points where we will focus. I want every aspect to be focused so that we are well-prepared to head to the World Cup."
