Reunion at Government Laboratory High School: Al Biruni House Wins Cricket Tournament
Government Laboratory High School, a prestigious institution in Dhaka, is home to four iconic houses named after renowned Islamic scholars—Al Biruni, Omar Khayyam, Al Mamun, and Salahuddin. Each year, the school hosts various sporting events in honor of these illustrious figures.
This year, the much-anticipated Inter-House Cricket Tournament 2024 took place on Friday, December 13, with former students participating.
In a round-robin format, all four houses competed against each other. The top two teams from the group stage advanced to the final, where Al Biruni House faced Salahuddin House.
In a thrilling finale, Al Biruni House emerged victorious, defeating Salahuddin House to claim the championship title. The event concluded with an awards ceremony.
The school grounds buzzed with the presence of alumni spanning six decades, from 1964 to 2024. Many attended not just to play but also to enjoy the matches and reconnect with their peers.
The primary goal of this event was to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among past and present students of the school, fostering a spirit of unity and camaraderie.
