Rabada expresses frustration over Proteas' tour of New Zealand

The South African cricket team embarked on a tour of New Zealand with an inexperienced squad. There have been various discussions surrounding the decision to take such a team for the Test series. The Proteas ended up losing the series. This prompted Kagiso Rabada, the fast bowler from South Africa, to speak out about the decision made by the board, which he deemed "unacceptable," requiring the entire team to bear the brunt.

Regular players were not given the opportunity to participate in the Test squad for the South Africa tour of New Zealand. A completely new team was formed for this tour. This team was sent to play against the Kiwis in place of the regular players.

Such incidents did not garner the attention of regular players at the time. Rabada expressed his dissatisfaction through the media, particularly citing his disappointment at being unable to participate in the IPL while being in India. He stated, "It was a very, very unacceptable matter. It's still unacceptable. Planning was crucial. It was unacceptable; I will say that."

"This is a matter of planning. What happened is somewhat akin to playing 'double book.' In the end, we were not given any say in the decision to go to New Zealand. The importance of the T20 tournament was paramount there. It was a case of shooting oneself in the foot."

Rabada also spoke about the importance of Test cricket in Indian media, emphasizing that Tests are the ultimate form of cricket. Even the big players would agree with that. However, there are some frustrations among current players, particularly fast bowlers like him.

While India, Australia, and England understand how to seize opportunities, other boards do not follow suit. The business aspect becomes evident in such cases. There is no alternative to good cricket. If you play well, everyone will take notice.
