Pakistan Arrive in Bangladesh for Test Series
The atmosphere of Test cricket returns to Bangladesh as the Pakistan national team has landed in Dhaka. The visitors arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday (May 3), although the full squad is yet to assemble.
While a portion of the team has already arrived, the remaining players are expected to join later. According to team sources, those involved in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final will travel to Dhaka after completing their commitments, leaving the timeline for a full squad reunion dependent on the league schedule.
The two-match Test series will be held at two major venues in the country. The first Test is scheduled to begin on May 8 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, while the second and final Test will take place from May 16 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The series is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025–27 cycle, adding significant value to each match in terms of points.
Shan Masood will lead the side, but much of the attention will be on the dugout, where former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is set to begin a new chapter in his international career as a coach. His presence has added an extra layer of intrigue within the Pakistan camp.
The squad announced for the Bangladesh tour also features fresh faces. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has included four new players, giving the team a blend of experience and youth.
Pakistan Squad:
Shan Masood (Captain), Abdullah Fazal, Aamad Butt, Azan Awais, Babar Azam, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Rizwan (Wicketkeeper), Muhammad Ghazi Ghori (Wicketkeeper), Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Saud Shakeel and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
