IPL 2025 Auction: Mustafizur Rahman, Rishad Hossain remains UNSOLD!

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Mega Auction is currently the center of attention for cricket fans worldwide. On the second day of the auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the names of Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman and debutant leg-spinner Rishad Hossain were called, but neither found any takers among the franchises.

This two-day event has captivated cricket enthusiasts, with a total of 72 players being sold on the first day. In today’s accelerated auction phase, the 10 IPL franchises submitted a list of 143 players. However, despite being included in the list, Mustafizur Rahman, who had a base price of INR 2 crore, remained unsold. After Mustafizur, Rishad Hossain, with a base price of INR 75 lakh, also failed to attract any bids.

Among the 81 players with the highest base price of INR 2 crore, Mustafizur was the sole Bangladeshi. Unfortunately, no franchise made an offer for the left-arm pacer, known as “The Fizz.” Similarly, Rishad Hossain, the first Bangladeshi leg-spinner to enter the IPL auction, also went unsold. So far, these two Bangladeshi cricketers have failed to secure a team in the ongoing auction.

Despite the initial buzz, some prominent names, including Mustafizur Rahman, failed to attract buyers, showcasing the intense competition among players to secure a spot in the IPL franchises.
