Litton Das Laments Painful Defeat After UAE Chase Down 206
Bangladesh captain Litton Das admitted the two-wicket loss to the UAE “hurts” after his side failed to defend 205, conceding 12 off the last over with a ball to spare to leave the T20I series level at 1-1.
“Any defeat is painful,” Litton said at the presentation. “It was a good batting wicket, and they benefited from the dew when they chased. Our fielding and our bowling in the middle overs let us down. We expected more from Nahid Rana—sometimes you have good days, sometimes bad. We’ll sit down, talk it through and come back.”
The Tigers had never before lost a T20I after setting a 200-plus target, but UAE skipper Muhammad Waseem blazed 82 from 42 balls to set up the record chase before Haider Ali finished the job in the final over.
With the three-match series now tied 1-1, tomorrow’s decider in Sharjah will determine the winner.
