Kamran Akmal slams Pakistan after USA upset

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has termed Pakistan's helpless surrender to the USA as the 'biggest insult'.

On Thursday, former world champions Pakistan faced the USA as favorites. However, Pakistan's shaky batting and bowling led the match to a super over. In the super over, experienced bowler Mohammad Amir conceded 18 runs to the USA batters. Many find it hard to accept Pakistan's defeat against the inexperienced USA team, sparking discussions and criticism in the cricketing community. Kamran Akmal has now joined these discussions.

Kamran Akmal believes there can be no greater humiliation for Pakistan than losing to the USA. In a video message on his YouTube channel, he said: "Losing the match in the super over is the biggest insult for Pakistan. There's nothing more humiliating than this. The USA played exceptionally well. Watching their game, it didn't seem like they were a lower-ranked team; rather, it felt like they were a bigger team than Pakistan."

Akmal added, "The USA won because they played better cricket than us. This loss has unveiled the true state of our cricket and shown how much we have actually progressed."

Kamran Akmal feels that Pakistan's cricketers did not perform well on that day. Losing to an inexperienced team like the USA is a disgrace for Pakistan. He said: "This is a shameful performance for the Pakistan cricket team. If they had lost to a big team like England, it would have been understandable, or if they had fought hard against their opponents, it would have been acceptable. But losing to a team that hasn't played many matches is unacceptable."

Pakistan will face India in their next match, which will take place on Sunday at Nassau County Stadium in New York.
