Shakibs All-Round Brilliance Powers Jaffna Kings to Victory

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan made his presence felt in the Lanka Premier League (LPL), delivering an impressive all-round performance to help Jaffna Kings secure a five-wicket victory over Dambulla Sixers. The win gave Jaffna their first victory of the tournament in their second match.

At the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo, Jaffna first bowled out Dambulla for 130. Shakib produced a disciplined spell, playing a key role in restricting the opposition’s scoring rate during the middle overs.

The left-arm spinner finished with outstanding figures of 2 wickets for just 12 runs from his four overs. He dismissed Reeza Hendricks and Ramesh Mendis, putting Dambulla under pressure. Chasing a target of 131, Jaffna comfortably reached the total, with Shakib not required to bat.

Shakib is representing Jaffna Kings in this year’s LPL after a two-year absence from the tournament. The four-time champions signed the experienced Bangladesh all-rounder through a direct contract ahead of the season, banking on his vast experience and all-round abilities.
