ICC Punishes Tanzim Hasan Sakib for Breach of Conduct

In their final group match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Bangladesh defeated Nepal by 21 runs. Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who bowled 21 dot balls, was named Player of the Match.

However, the Bangladesh pacer has been fined due to an incident in the same match. Sakib violated the ICC Code of Conduct, resulting in a fine of 15% of his match fee and the addition of 1 demerit point to his disciplinary record. This is Sakib’s first offense within a 24-month period.

The incident occurred in the 3rd over of Nepal's innings when Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who was bowling excellently, had a confrontation with Nepal’s captain Rohit Paudel. After delivering a ball, Sakib approached Rohit aggressively and made inappropriate physical contact.
