The Champions Trophy, known as the mini World Cup, is set to be held in Pakistan next year, but India has refused to participate if the tournament is held there. Consequently, the ICC is considering hosting the matches outside Pakistan.

After an 8-year hiatus, the Champions Trophy is scheduled to take place, with Pakistan hosting the event solo for the first time. The ICC signed an agreement with the PCB last December, granting Pakistan the hosting rights. Despite this, the ICC is exploring a hybrid model as a potential solution, which could see the semifinals and finals being held outside Pakistan.

Last year, Pakistan adopted a hybrid model for the Asia Cup, where India played their matches in Sri Lanka while other teams, including Pakistan, played in Pakistan. The final was held in Sri Lanka. The Champions Trophy might follow a similar hybrid model if an agreement is reached.

According to Pakistan's Express Tribune, the ICC is making alternative plans because India refuses to play in Pakistan. The ICC's annual meeting, scheduled from July 19 to 22 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, will include detailed discussions about the Champions Trophy arrangements.

However, unlike the Asia Cup, the PCB is reluctant to accept a hybrid model for the Champions Trophy. They prefer to host the tournament exclusively in Pakistan. A report by Geo News indicated that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is expected to take a firm stand against the hybrid model at the annual meeting in Sri Lanka.
