Students have liberated the country from 16 years of autocracy, misrule, and oppression. Following this, they have taken to the streets of the capital starting from Tuesday to manage traffic. They have also engaged in cleaning up road debris and removing graffiti to keep the city clean. In recognition of their efforts, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has gifted umbrellas to these student protesters, who are also known as Generation Z. Previously, the BCB had arranged for food supplies for them.
Across various areas, students from universities, colleges, and schools have been seen managing traffic since the morning. A large number of students are voluntarily taking on this responsibility. Life in the capital is gradually returning to normal. This includes Mirpur, where students working around the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium have been provided with umbrellas by the BCB.
In the absence of traffic police, students are managing the city's roads under the sun and rain. To support them, the BCB has taken commendable steps. After providing food supplies two days ago, the BCB gifted 40 umbrellas to the students yesterday. Today, they will distribute approximately 60 more umbrellas to the students.
During the police strike, students are directing traffic with hand signals and whistles. Some students are trying to organize unruly vehicles into lanes. Thanks to their efforts, traffic in congestion-prone areas is running smoothly.
In addition to traffic management and cleanliness, the youth are also involved in recovering looted state assets and market regulation, among other tasks.
