Chattogram Divisional Womens T20 League Begins Tomorrow

The Chattogram Divisional Women’s T20 Cricket League 2026 is set to be held for the first time, featuring female cricketers from across the Chattogram Division. The tournament will begin tomorrow, March 7, and continue until March 12. All matches will be played at the Continental Sports Complex Ground in Hathazari, Chattogram.

The tournament has been initiated by Ahsan Iqbal Chowdhury, Director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board and Managing Director of Continental Group. The main objective of the initiative is to create a competitive platform for women cricketers and support the development of women’s cricket at the divisional and grassroots levels.

Players from 11 districts of the Chattogram Division will participate in the tournament. Through a draft process, they have been divided into four teams: Pirates of Chittagong, Rising Star Junior, CSCL Club, and Team ISCL.

The tournament final will be held on March 12.

For this competition, players have been divided into three categories. In Category A, 12 players will receive BDT 7,000 per match. In Category B, 15 players will receive BDT 5,000 per match, while 29 players in Category C will receive BDT 4,000 per match.

All expenses related to the tournament will be borne by the sponsoring organization, Continental Group. Accommodation has been arranged for the players in two residential hotels, and air-conditioned buses will be provided to transport players between the hotels and the venue throughout the tournament.

The organisers believe that with the Women’s BPL scheduled to take place in April, this divisional league will play an important role in identifying talented players and preparing them for the upcoming competition.
