According to the Future Tours Programme (FTP), Bangladesh was originally scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is in Pakistan in May. However, with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup approaching, the two cricket boards agreed to replace the ODIs with a five-match T20I series. That plan has now been revised again, and the series will consist of three T20Is.
Due to the unrest between India and Pakistan, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was temporarily suspended midway. Though it later resumed, the revised schedule clashed with the planned Bangladesh series, raising doubts about whether the tour would go ahead.
However, successful discussions in Dubai between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have cleared the uncertainty.
Following the meeting, the PCB confirmed that the Bangladesh national team will travel to Pakistan to play the T20I series.
The decision was made after an extended meeting between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, BCB President Faruque Ahmed, and Chairman of Cricket Operations Nazmul Abedeen Fahim.
The three T20I matches between Bangladesh and Pakistan will all take place in Lahore.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed his gratitude to the BCB President and Chairman for finalizing the tour.
