In a consecutive match, Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and decided to field first. The decision not to bat first against a comparatively weaker opponent like Zimbabwe raises questions. However, there are specific reasons behind this strategy. Considering the hot weather in Chittagong and upcoming World Cup conditions, the Bangladesh team opts to field first. This approach by the Tiger Team management is primarily to adapt to the challenging conditions on the field.

Rishad Hossain, explaining the captain and coach's decision, mentioned that the players are focused solely on playing their roles on the field, whether it's batting or bowling. He commented on the decision to bowl first after winning the toss, stating, "Normally, our plan is to bowl first since it's very hot. I think it will be quite hot during the World Cup as well. We are trying to get accustomed to that."

When asked whether choosing to bat after winning the toss could have provided more practice, Rishad responded, "I can't really say. It's up to the captain and the coach. Normally, we try to play our role, whether it’s batting or bowling."

Regarding the opportunity to dismiss Zimbabwe for around 115-120 runs, Rishad felt that quick wickets could have been taken after the initial five. He acknowledged that Zimbabwe repeated their previous game's performance and sees room for improvement.

"In fact, sometimes you’ll see 4-5 quick wickets falling," Rishad observed. "If we had taken 2-3 more wickets from there, they could have been all out for 115-120 instead of reaching 140. We could probably do better here.''
