Shakib Al Hasan Misses Out on Final IPL 2026 Auction List Despite Registration

Despite registering for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 Auction, Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has not been included in the final shortlist. Among the 1,390 players who initially registered, only 350 have made it into the final auction pool—leaving out 1,040, including the former IPL regular.

There was a time when Shakib was a consistent performer in the IPL, often securing his place in the playing XI as a premier all-rounder. But the current scenario reflects a different reality: Shakib no longer finds a spot even in the final auction list.

Shakib had entered the auction with a base price of INR 1 crore, but the selectors opted not to include him this year. However, seven Bangladeshi cricketers have made the final list, with Mustafizur Rahman among the highest base-price bracket at INR 2 crore.

Bangladeshi Cricketers in the Final IPL 2026 Auction List

Mustafizur Rahman (Fast Bowler – Set 2) – INR 2 crore

Rishad Hossain (Spin Bowler – Set 2) – INR 75 lakh

Taskin Ahmed (Fast Bowler – Set 3) – INR 75 lakh

Tanzim Hasan Sakib (Fast Bowler – Set 4) – INR 75 lakh

Nahid Rana (Fast Bowler – Set 4) – INR 75 lakh

Rakibul Hasan (Uncapped Spinner – Set 4) – INR 30 lakh

Shoriful Islam (Fast Bowler – Set 5) – INR 75 lakh

The much-anticipated IPL auction will take place on 16 December in Abu Dhabi. Out of 1,390 registered players, the final pool consists of 240 Indians and 110 overseas players, including 224 uncapped Indian cricketers and 14 uncapped foreign players.

From the 350 shortlisted players, 77 are expected to be picked, with 31 overseas slots still open for franchise recruitment.

A total of 40 players have been listed with the maximum base price of INR 2 crore. The auction will begin at 3 PM Bangladesh Time on 16 December.
