Bangladesh ‘A’ Clinch First Victory in Top End T20 Series Against Nepal
Nurul Hasan Sohan’s Bangladesh ‘A’ finally tasted victory in the Top End T20 Series, defeating Nepal by 32 runs.
After posting 186 for 6, Bangladesh restricted Nepal to 154 for 7 in their chase. Rishad Hossain (Rakibul) starred with the ball, picking up three crucial wickets for just 18 runs in his four overs, while Hasan Mahmud’s pace also proved too hot for Nepal’s batters.
Chasing 186, Nepal faltered against Bangladesh’s disciplined attack. They lost four wickets for 75 runs in the first 10 overs, leaving them with the uphill task of scoring 110 more in the final 10. Hasan Mahmud struck early, dismissing opener Kushal Bhurtel in the second over. Fellow opener Aasif Sheikh managed 28 off 24 balls, while Lokesh Bam contributed only 15 before falling to Rakibul.
Despite a fighting unbeaten half-century from Kushal Malla, who finished on 59*, Nepal fell well short of the target.
With this result, Bangladesh ‘A’ secured their first win of the competition after a tough start against Pakistan Shaheens.
