Aminul Islam Appointed as NSC-Nominated Councillor, Set to Become BCB President
Former national team captain Aminul Islam has officially been named a National Sports Council (NSC)-nominated councillor of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
He is expected to be elected as the new president of the BCB during the board’s executive meeting scheduled for later this afternoon. Prior to this, the NSC had already nominated Aminul Islam as a director of the board.
Even before the NSC officially revoked Faruk Ahmed’s nomination as a BCB director, the council had already issued a letter naming Aminul Islam—a former captain and the country's first Test centurion—as a councillor. With that councillorship now formally approved, the NSC has officially declared him a BCB director.
This clears the way for Aminul Islam to assume leadership of the board, marking a significant moment in the administrative history of Bangladesh cricket.
