Nahid Rana Jumps 23 Places in ICC Rankings
Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana has been rewarded for his outstanding bowling performance against Australia. In the latest ICC ODI bowlers’ rankings, the speedster has climbed 23 places to reach No. 24.
Nahid grabbed the spotlight with a four-wicket haul in the first ODI of the series against Australia in Mirpur. That performance has earned him a significant rise in the rankings, marking one of the most notable advances by a Bangladeshi fast bowler in recent times.
Meanwhile, Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed has moved up two places to No. 2 in the ODI bowlers’ rankings. His rise comes after taking six wickets in the three-match ODI series against Australia. In the same series, Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed seven wickets and climbed four spots to No. 9.
There have also been several changes in the ICC Test rankings. England’s Harry Brook has returned to the No. 1 position among Test batters, reclaiming the top spot for the first time since 2024. Brook contributed to England’s victory over New Zealand in the first Test with an innings of 56 runs.
Former No. 1 batter Joe Root has slipped to third place, while Australia’s Travis Head has moved up one spot to No. 2. India’s Shubman Gill, meanwhile, has climbed two places to No. 8 after scoring a century against Afghanistan. Gill’s knock of 126 helped India secure a massive innings-and-300-run victory in New Chandigarh.
In the Test bowlers’ rankings, England’s Gus Atkinson has risen seven places to No. 10 after taking seven wickets against New Zealand at Lord’s. He has also moved up two spots to sixth place in the Test all-rounders’ rankings.
