India Beat Zimbabwe by 7 Wickets in First T20I

A blistering half-century from opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi and an impressive bowling performance from returning pacer Mayank Yadav guided India to a comfortable victory over Zimbabwe in the first T20I of the three-match series.

Chasing a target of 126, the visitors cruised to a seven-wicket win with 40 balls to spare. The victory gave Shreyas Iyer’s side a 1-0 lead in the series.

After winning the toss, India captain Shreyas Iyer elected to bowl first. Returning to international cricket after a long injury layoff, Mayank Yadav gave India the perfect start by striking with the very first ball of the match. Zimbabwe’s top order had no answer to India’s pace attack, collapsing to 32 for 4.

Wesley Madhevere scored 39, while Ryan Burl contributed 26 to help Zimbabwe recover to 125 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. For India, Mayank Yadav claimed 2 wickets for 18 runs, while Prince Yadav picked up 2 for 19. Mayank was named Player of the Match for his outstanding spell.

In reply, India lost Abhishek Sharma for 11 early in the chase, but young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi launched a fierce counterattack against the Zimbabwean bowlers. The left-hander smashed 50 off just 19 balls, hitting four fours and four sixes before being dismissed.

Ishan Kishan then scored 35 off 24 deliveries, while captain Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 28 from 24 balls as India reached the target in just 13.2 overs. Blessing Muzarabani was the pick of Zimbabwe’s bowlers, finishing with figures of 2 for 26.
