Injury Scare for Bangladesh: Towhid Hridoy Doubtful for Series Opener Against Pakistan
Bad news has arrived from Pakistan on the eve of the T20I series. Bangladesh's star batter Towhid Hridoy sustained an injury during a practice session under the floodlights at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. While the injury is not believed to be serious, his availability for the first T20I remains uncertain and depends on a final fitness test.
Hridoy suffered the injury while attempting a catch during fielding drills. He received immediate treatment from the team physio and subsequently left the field. Later that night, a scan was conducted, which fortunately showed no major damage.
Bangladesh and Pakistan will begin their three-match T20I series tonight at 9 PM (Bangladesh time). As a key figure in Bangladesh’s middle order, Hridoy’s inclusion in the playing XI is crucial. However, the final decision regarding his participation will be made by the team management at the ground prior to the match.
The series will continue with the second T20I on May 30 and conclude with the final match on June 1. All matches will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, starting at 9 PM Bangladesh time.
