Jayden Lennox earns maiden call-up as New Zealand name squads for India series
New Zealand Cricket have announced their ODI and T20I squads for next month’s white-ball series against India. Left-arm finger spinner *Jayden Lennox* has received his maiden call-up to the national side for the series.
Alongside Lennox, the ODI squad includes uncapped bowling all-rounder *Kristian Clarke, leg-spinning all-rounder **Adithya Ashok, seam-bowling all-rounder **Josh Clarkson, and fast bowler **Michael Rae*, who recently made his Test debut against West Indies.
With regular captain *Mitchell Santner* sidelined due to injury, *Michael Bracewell* will lead the ODI side. Santner, however, has recovered from a groin injury and will return to captain the T20I squad.
The T20I squad features aggressive batters *Bevon Jacobs* and *Tim Robinson, while **Mark Chapman* and *Matt Henry* have returned after recovering from injury. Henry will miss the ODI series as he continues his rehabilitation.
*Kane Williamson* will be unavailable for the ODI series due to his SA20 commitments with Durban’s Super Giants.
Although Clarke had previously been called up for the home ODI series against England and the Test series against West Indies, he is yet to make his international debut. *Nathan Smith, **William O’Rourke* and *Blair Tickner* were not considered due to injury. *Tom Latham* will also miss the ODI series following the birth of his third child.
Fast bowlers *Kyle Jamieson* and *Zak Foulkes* have been named in both formats. *Rachin Ravindra* and *Jacob Duffy* have been rested from the ODIs after a busy home season.
*Mitch Hay* will keep wicket in the ODI series, while *Devon Conway* will take on wicketkeeping duties in the T20Is. *Lockie Ferguson, **Adam Milne, **Finn Allen* and *Tim Seifert* will join the T20I squad later in the series due to their commitments in the ILT20, SA20 and Big Bash League.
New Zealand’s tour of India will begin with the ODI series on *January 11, followed by a five-match T20I series starting on **January 21 in Nagpur*.
