Protest and Human Chain in Chattogram Demanding Swift Organization of Chattogram District Cricket League
A human chain and protest rally were held today at 3:00 PM at the Chattogram District Stadium, demanding the immediate organization of the Chattogram District Cricket League and protesting the silent stance of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The program was organized by the Chattogram Cricket Players’ Association.
During the rally, the Chattogram District Sports Council was given a seven-day ultimatum to announce team changes and the league’s starting date. At the same time, strong criticism and anger were expressed over the BCB’s lack of response in organizing the Chattogram Cricket League.
Present at the human chain and protest were Sirajuddin Md. Alomgir, General Secretary of the Chattogram Cricket Players’ Association and former BCB director; veteran cricket coach Tapan Dutta; former national cricketer Masumuddoula; former cricketer Abu Sama Biplob; and cricket coaches Amin, Momin, Prince, Kajol, and Ismail, among others.
