Khaled Mashud Pilot's Initiative for Rickshaw Pullers
At 48 years old, Khaled Mashud Pilot, the former Bangladeshi cricketer, has long retired from professional cricket. However, he remains connected to the sport and is actively involved in social work through his association with Clemon Sports.
In his hometown of Rajshahi, Khaled Mashud Pilot owns a farmhouse with a mango orchard. This orchard is not used for commercial purposes. While he used to send mangoes to relatives and friends, this time he is distributing them to laborers. His goal is to provide seasonal fruits to those whose hard work keeps the wheels of Dhaka turning.
Khaled Mashud Pilot posted a video on his verified Facebook page, stating, "Out of passion, I have established a farmhouse in my birthplace, Rajshahi, which includes a large mango orchard. Since the orchard was not created for commercial purposes, I have been distributing the mangoes to my relatives and friends' homes every year. This year, I have decided to give the taste of seasonal fruits to the laborers, especially rickshaw pullers, in the capital city of Dhaka. This is my small effort for those whose hard work keeps Dhaka running."
From 1995 to 2007, wicketkeeper-batsman Khaled Mashud Pilot played 44 Tests and 126 ODIs for Bangladesh, scoring 1409 and 1818 runs, respectively. He captained the Bangladesh national team and continued playing first-class cricket until 2011 and List A cricket until 2014.
