Preparation for Bangladesh Test: Rohit and Kohli to Play Domestic Cricket
In a surprising move, India's star cricketers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have signed up to play in domestic cricket! They will participate in the Duleep Trophy, while only Jasprit Bumrah has been rested. To prepare for the upcoming series against Bangladesh, Kohli and Rohit will take the field in the Duleep Trophy.
The Duleep Trophy is set to begin on September 5. The first Test between India and Bangladesh will take place in Chennai from September 19. Before this crucial series against Bangladesh, Rohit and Kohli will be seen playing domestic cricket. India's two-match Test series against Bangladesh will kick off on September 19, and the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) is focused on ensuring thorough preparation.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be part of the Duleep Trophy. This season, the Duleep Trophy will be held in a new format. Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, and Kuldeep Yadav have also been asked by the board to participate in this domestic tournament.
However, it is not yet confirmed whether Rohit and Kohli will be available for the first two rounds of the Duleep Trophy. The Indian board is planning a practice session in Chennai ahead of the Bangladesh series. If this plan is finalized, Kohli and Rohit will take part in the tournament's opening round.
On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah will not be playing. The right-arm fast bowler has been given complete rest to manage his workload. There are also rumors that Bumrah may be rested for the Test series against Bangladesh.
