ICC bans former assistant coach of Pune Devils in Abu Dhabi T10

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has banned Abu Dhabi T10 League coach Sunny Dhillon for six years due to his involvement in anti-corruption activities under the Emirates Cricket Board's (ECB) anti-corruption measures. Dhillon, the former assistant coach of Pune Devils franchise, has been banned from all forms of cricket after evidence of his wrongdoing was found.

Dhillon was one of the eight individuals accused of attempting to influence match results during the 2021 Abu Dhabi T10 tournament. Among the accused was Bangladesh’s Nasir Hossain, who was also implicated.

Other individuals involved in the scandal included two co-owners of Pune Devils (Krishan Kumar Choudhury and Parag Sanghvi), two domestic players, their batting coach (Ashar Zaidi), and the team's manager Shadab Ahmed.

Nasir Hossain was banned for two years in January of this year. In August, Zaidi, Sanghvi, and Choudhury were also banned after admitting to breaches of the anti-corruption code.

After a complete hearing of written and oral arguments, Dhillon was found guilty. His ban came into effect on September 13, 2023.
