Rohit Sharma wants India-Pakistan test series
Rohit Sharma would be delighted if a Test series were to be played between India and Pakistan in a different country. Such discussions had surfaced a few days ago from Cricket Australia. They expressed interest in organizing matches between India and Pakistan. In this regard, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) would need to coordinate. Indian skipper Rohit discussed these matters in a recent episode of Club Prayag Podcast.
In a podcast managed by Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan, the Indian captain talked about the possibility of a bilateral series between India and Pakistan. He expressed full support for it. The last time Pakistan played a three-match ODI series in India was during the 2012-13 season.
Since then, there hasn't been any bilateral series between the two teams. Political instability between the two countries has affected cricket. Hence, a series seems unlikely at the moment.
For the advancement of Test cricket, and also for the development of cricket in both India and Pakistan, Rohit believes that playing a series between the two teams would greatly assist. He firmly believes in this. He praised Pakistan's bowling unit separately, saying, "They are a good team. Their fantastic bowling line-up is noteworthy. It would be a fantastic competition if you play in different conditions. That would be the best."
Efforts and discussions have begun to initiate a bilateral series between India and Pakistan. Talks are underway among neighboring countries, with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the UAE being considered. Recently, discussions have also been initiated from England and Australia's cricket boards regarding the organization of an India-Pakistan series.
