Players need to improve in Test cricket: Miraz
There is no specific commentary on Bangladesh's batting from Mehedi Hasan Miraz. In today's third day's play, Sri Lanka has set a formidable target for Bangladesh, and the efforts of the welcoming side seem minimal. Towards the end of the day, Miraz's team has lost 5 wickets. The team's score stands at 47 runs. They still have a long way to go, especially considering the downturn in Bangladesh's fortunes.
It's crucial for the batters to perform well, as emphasized by Bangladesh's all-rounder Miraz in the press conference. However, the desired performance seems absent from Bangladesh's batters. In the first innings, Sri Lanka piled up a lead by scoring 188 runs without losing any wickets. The current target doesn't evoke thoughts of victory for Bangladesh.
Regarding the batting performance at the end of the day, Miraz stated, "The commentary on this depends on how the player plays. It reflects what they are thinking at that moment based on the situation. I feel it's definitely challenging towards the end. We have to take on that challenge. The dismissals we've had so far are disappointing. Nevertheless, we will try to play well. If those of us who are present, like Muminul bhai, manage to score runs, that's good. If I get to bat and can contribute in a good position, it will be beneficial for us."
There are still shortcomings in Bangladesh's skills in the Test match, as also highlighted by Miraz. In such situations, the patience and determination required in Test cricket are lacking from Bangladesh's team. In this regard, Miraz mentioned, "We need to develop our skills further. We need to identify where we are lacking. Perhaps we are a bit more inclined towards playing shots. Sometimes, when I try to leave the ball, I end up playing it, and I might get out. Test cricket needs to be improved further by the players."
