The Afghanistan Cricket Board has enlisted Caribbean star Dwayne Bravo as their bowling consultant ahead of the T20 World Cup, a move that has already yielded results. In their first match of the tournament, Afghanistan defeated Uganda with excellent bowling.

Afghanistan's head coach Jonathan Trott expressed his happiness with the team's positive start in the World Cup. He specifically praised the decision to include Dwayne Bravo, believing that Bravo's vast experience had a significant impact on the Afghan bowlers. Trott said about Bravo:

"Working with Bravo has really helped the boys in our first match. It's a good start for the team, and the credit goes to Bravo."

It is noteworthy that 40-year-old Dwayne Bravo has played 295 international matches for the West Indies, scoring 6,423 runs and taking 363 wickets. He is considered one of the most successful all-rounders in T20 cricket, having won the World Cup, Champions Trophy, and IPL and CPL titles with franchise teams.

On Tuesday in Guyana, Rashid Khan's team won by 125 runs against Uganda. After losing the toss, Afghanistan posted a large total of 183 for 5. In response, Uganda, playing their first T20 World Cup, were bowled out for just 58 runs. Chasing a target of 184, Uganda lost wickets early, losing two in the first over bowled by Fazalhaq Farooqi. They continued to lose wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for 58. Farooqi took 5 wickets for 9 runs in his 4 overs. Additionally, Naveen-ul-Haq took 2 wickets for 4 runs in 2 overs, and captain Rashid Khan took 2 wickets for 12 runs in his 4 overs. The remaining wicket was taken by Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

After the heavy defeat against Afghanistan, Uganda's captain Brian Masaba is determined to bounce back. He emphasized focusing on the positive aspects. Masaba acknowledged the challenge of staying composed against a strong team like Afghanistan in their first World Cup appearance. He said:

"Hearing our national anthem and seeing our flag at the World Cup stage was a special moment for us."

Brian Masaba hopes to perform better in their next match. Uganda will face Papua New Guinea in their next Group C match on Thursday, while Afghanistan will play against New Zealand on Saturday at the same venue.
