Stuart Broad Wants Pant in India T20 World Cup Squad
Stuart Broad, former English pacer, desires to see Rishabh Pant considered for the Indian squad in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Despite Pant's recent mishaps and the controversy surrounding him, there isn't much doubt about his inclusion. However, many Indian cricketers are performing exceptionally well in the ongoing IPL season, which might create a dilemma for selectors.
Broad wants Pant to be part of the Indian squad. Pant is currently leading the Delhi Capitals in the IPL. With the T20 World Cup looming, the composition of the Indian squad remains uncertain. The local players' outstanding performances could lead to some changes in the usual lineup.
Regarding Pant, Broad stated, "There is some discussion going on about the selection process of the Indian team. Some players are still waiting for their chance. Rishabh Pant is such a player who has various discussions around him. I saw a shot from him in a match against KKR, a no-look flick over square leg for six. At that moment, I thought he would be in the T20 World Cup squad. He is ready, he will go well."
There might be some chopping and changing in the middle order of the Indian batting lineup, where many players are shining in the IPL. Players like Shivam Dube and Riyan Parag are making their names known. Broad commented, "He has been out of the game for a long time. He is a captain, he is a wicketkeeper. He can bat at number 3, 4, or 5."
Recently retired English pacer Broad added that if he were a selector, he would definitely include Pant in the T20 squad.
