In the Lanka T10 Super League, the match between Galle Marvelsand Nuwara Eliya ended without a result, marking the second consecutive washout for Shakib's team in the tournament. Shakib Al Hasan had the opportunity to bat, facing three balls and scoring 6 runs. He hit a six off the first ball, but was dismissed after a dot ball and getting out on the next delivery.
In their first match of the tournament, Shakib’s batting led Galle Marvels to a 7-wicket victory. However, their second match against Hambantota Bangla Tigers was abandoned due to rain, and the third match against Nuwara Eliya also saw rain interruptions. In the 5.5 overs of play, Galle had scored 53 runs and lost 4 wickets before the match was stopped.
At the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Galle Marvels lost the toss and batted first. After losing Niroshan Dickwella for 13 runs, the 28-run opening partnership was broken. In the fifth over, Alex Hales was dismissed by Dushan Hemnath, and Shakib came to the crease.
On his first ball, Shakib smashed a six over deep mid-wicket, giving a promising start. However, he was dismissed on the very next ball, trying to hit another six off Hemnath. The ball was caught easily by Lahiru Madushanka at the boundary line.
Shakib’s team will play their next match against Jaffna Titans tomorrow at 6:45 PM.
