Pakistan Cricket Board Announces Women's Central Contract List for 2024-25 Season

On Saturday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled the list of centrally contracted players for the Pakistan Women's National Cricket Team for the 2024-25 season. A total of 16 players have made it to the list, which will be effective from July 1, 2024.

The list sees Fatima Sana (captain) and Muniba Ali (wicketkeeper-batter) placed in Category A, while Sadia Iqbal, the left-arm spinner, is in Category B. These categories have been determined based on recent performances.

There are three new entrants in the central contract list: Gul Firoza, Rameen Shamee, and Tasmia Rubab. This marks Tasmia Rubab's first inclusion in the central contract list. Meanwhile, Rameen Shamee (after the 2022-23 season) and Gul Firoza (after 2018) have made their return to the list.

However, Alia Riaz, Anosha Nasir, Aiman Fatima, Nida Dar, Shawwal Zulfiqar, and Sidra Nawaz have been dropped from the contract list.

PCB Chief Operating Officer, Sumair Ahmed Syed, expressed his congratulations, saying:

"On behalf of PCB, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to Fatima Sana, Muniba Ali, and Sadia Iqbal for their promotions, and to Tasmia Rubab for earning her first central contract. Additionally, I am pleased to welcome Gul Firoza and Rameen Shamee back into the central contract list, as recognition for their consistent performances."

He further added, "Our vision is clear: to build a strong and more competitive Pakistan Women's Cricket Team that can consistently challenge on the global stage and proudly represent the nation in upcoming ICC events."
