Haris Hits Blazing Century as Pakistan Whitewash Bangladesh Despite Tigers’ Record Total
Bangladesh posted their highest-ever T20I score against Pakistan – 196 for 6 – but it wasn’t enough, as Mohammad Haris produced a breathtaking century to lead Pakistan to a 7-wicket win and seal a 3-0 series whitewash.
After being put into bat by Pakistan captain Salman Agha, Bangladesh openers Parvez Hossain Emon and Tanzid Hasan Tamim gave the visitors a flying start, adding 110 runs for the first wicket. Emon smashed 66 off 34 balls (7 fours, 4 sixes), while Tamim contributed 42 off 32 deliveries.
Despite the promising start, Bangladesh faltered in the death overs. Liton Das (22), Towhid Hridoy (25), and Shamim Patwary (4) failed to capitalize, and the Tigers fell short of the 200-run mark. Wicketkeeper Zaker Ali Anik’s late cameo ensured the total reached 196, though it felt slightly underwhelming given the foundation.
In reply, Pakistan’s batting was ruthless. Opener Saim Ayub scored a quickfire 45, while Mohammad Haris stole the show with a stunning century, scoring 100 off just 35 balls. His explosive innings, laced with boundaries all around the ground, marked his first international T20 century and also made him the first Pakistani to score a T20I hundred while not opening the innings.
Pakistan chased down the 197-run target with ease, winning the match with 16 balls and 7 wickets in hand, completing a dominant series sweep.
Match Summary:
