The winning streak of the Rajasthan Royals finally came to an end. They tasted defeat against the Gujarat Titans by a margin of 3 wickets. Gujarat had to strive hard to chase down Rajasthan's target of 197 runs. It was Rashid Khan's batting heroics that ensured victory for Gujarat with a boundary off the last ball of the match.
The target for the opposition was 197 runs, and there was some pressure. However, Gujarat started their batting innings with ease. Skipper Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan displayed remarkable batting performances. The team lost its first wicket at 64 runs, with Sudarshan departing after scoring 35 runs.
Mathew Wade and the debutant Manohar Phirki returned with single-digit scores. Gill partnered with Shankar, contributing 100 runs to the team's total. Gill's innings ended at 16 runs, followed shortly by his departure. At that point, the team was at 133 runs with a loss of 5 wickets, in the 16th over.
Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan were needed to play cautiously for the team. However, Shahrukh Khan departed after scoring 14 runs individually. Rashid Khan and Tewatia took charge to finish the match this time. Gujarat was concerned about the slow over rate.
