Afghanistan Wins the ODI Series Against Zimbabwe 2-0
Afghanistan has secured a 2-0 victory in the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe, with the first match being abandoned due to rain. Afghanistan won the second match, and in the third match, they defeated Zimbabwe by 8 wickets to clinch the series.
At the Harare Sporting Club, Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bat, but they quickly lost wickets due to the spin bowling of Allah Mohammad Gazanfir. After losing 3 wickets for just 24 runs, Zimbabwe's middle-order pair of Shane Williams and Sikandar Raza added 36 runs for the fourth wicket.
However, when Raza was dismissed for 13, Zimbabwe's batting lineup crumbled like a house of cards. The hosts were all out for just 127 runs in 30.1 overs. Williams top-scored for Zimbabwe with 60 runs.
For Afghanistan, Allah Mohammad Gazanfir took 5 wickets, and Rashid Khan claimed 3 wickets.
Chasing a target of 128, Afghanistan's openers, Sediqullah Atal and Abdul Malik, provided a solid start with an 84-run partnership. Malik was dismissed for 29 runs, and Atal, who completed a half-century, was dismissed for 52 runs.
Afghanistan then completed the chase with a 35-run partnership for the third wicket between Rahmat Shah and Hashmatullah Shahidi. Rahmat remained unbeaten on 17 runs, and Shahidi contributed 20 runs.
For Zimbabwe, Richard Ngarava and Tadiwanashe Marumani took 1 wicket each.
