Nine Bangladeshi Cricketers Enter Big Bash League Draft
The Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia is one of the major franchise cricket tournaments. Before the upcoming season begins, a total of nine Bangladeshi cricketers have entered the players' draft. Among them, six are prepared to play the entire season, while Rishad Hossain, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib will be available for 6-9 matches and the final.
The 14th edition of the Men's Big Bash will commence on December 15 of this year. The schedule for the BBL draft has also been finalized. This year's draft features star players such as South Africa's Lungi Ngidi, Ben Duckett, and Jofra Archer. With nine Bangladeshi cricketers participating, they have also secured their nominations for the final draft.
The upcoming BBL draft will be held in Melbourne on September 1. The final list of 432 players nominated for the draft has been announced. The Bangladeshi players nominated are Hasan Mahmud, Zakir Ali Anik, Mohammad Saifuddin, Rishad Hossain, Rony Talukdar, Shamim Hossain Patowary, Taijul Islam, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.
This means that any franchise can select these players for their team. However, considering national team assignments, Rishad, Tamim, and Sakib will only be available for 6-9 matches, although they will participate in the final if their team reaches it. The remaining six cricketers will be available for the entire season if they are drafted.
