In New York, the first match of the T20 World Cup will be held on June 3 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. Before the match between Sri Lanka and South Africa, the stadium will undergo a reality check on June 1 with a practice match between Bangladesh and India.

The Bangladesh team has been practicing in New York in preparation for the match. After losing the series 2-1 against the United States of America (USA), Najmul Hossain Shanto's team needs a good result in the practice match to heal the wounds before the World Cup.

Earlier, Shanto had seen pictures and videos of this cricket ground on the internet. However, entering the stadium in person gave him a different feeling.

According to Shanto, "It’s unbelievable, I think it’s crazy."

"We all saw on the internet that there was nothing here (three months ago). Now it looks like a proper stadium, it looks great."

"Especially the Eastern Grandstand. I didn’t expect it to be like this, I think it’s a proper stadium. The ground looks really good, it’s a proper cricket ground."

"Honestly, I didn’t expect anything like this. But on social media, we all saw what the wicket looked like, what the ground would be like, and everyone is eager to see what will happen here."

The gallery, with a capacity of 34,000 spectators, was designed by Populous. The turf was brought from Landtek Group, who have successfully completed many projects for New York’s Major League Baseball team and Inter Miami’s Major League Soccer team.

The drop-in wicket was brought from Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions in Florida, maintained by head curator Damien Hough. After a 20-hour journey, this wicket is now in the middle of New York.

In addition to the practice match, Bangladesh will also play one main event match at this ground. On June 10, Bangladesh’s opponent in that match will be South Africa.
