Announcement of Women's T20 World Cup Schedule in Bangladesh Today

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has initiated preparations for the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup, which is hosted by Bangladesh. Today, the International Cricket Council (ICC) and BCB will announce the schedule for the tournament. After a ten-year hiatus since 2014, another World Cup has been welcomed to Bangladesh.

A press conference will be held today at a five-star hotel in the capital to announce the schedule of the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup. Additionally, discussions are underway for the unveiling of the tournament trophy, which has arrived in Dhaka.

Sports Minister and BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon and ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice will be present at the schedule announcement and trophy unveiling today. Also attending will be the captains of the Bangladesh women's team, Nigar Sultana Joti, and the Indian women's team, Harmanpreet Kaur, who are playing a WT20I series in Bangladesh.

According to a reliable source from BCB, the Women's T20 World Cup will commence on October 3rd. The final will be held on October 23rd. Before the main tournament, the teams will have preparation matches, with the probable venues being Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium and Sylhet International Cricket Stadium's grounds.

Ten teams will participate in the Women's T20 World Cup, divided into two groups of five teams each. Each group will have five teams. Before the main round, each team will have the opportunity to play preparation matches. The top two teams from each group will directly advance to the semifinals. The two semifinals and the final will make up a total of 23 matches in the tournament.

The teams participating in this edition of the Women's T20 World Cup are: Bangladesh, India, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, South Africa, and West Indies. Additionally, two more teams will have to go through the qualification round.
