Coach Excited About Litton’s Return as Bangladesh Eyes Whitewash Against Windies

After a disappointing whitewash in the ODI series against the West Indies, Bangladesh bounced back strongly in the T20 series. The Tigers have already secured the series by winning the first two matches, and now they have the chance to complete a clean sweep. Bangladesh’s Caribbean head coach, Phil Simmons, is optimistic about their chances.

Speaking ahead of the final match, Simmons said, “I don’t know if we can whitewash them, but the important thing is that we’ve won the series. Of course, we want to finish with a win, end the series on a high, and go home happy.”

The coach emphasized the team’s belief in their ability to win every game, saying, “Before every match, I believe we can win. Even though we didn’t win any ODIs, we discussed how we could win here. We did that before the first match, the second match, and now we’ll sit down to strategize for the third. We have the ability to win.”

Despite the ODI series loss, Simmons believes it boosted the players’ confidence, adding, “I think the performances in the ODI series gave them confidence that they can do well against this team. The format is different, but the way we’ve won these matches couldn’t have been predicted beforehand. The players deserve credit, especially after bouncing back from the ODI losses.”

Shamim Impresses, Coach Delighted
Phil Simmons praised Shamim Hossain Patwary, who has made a strong comeback to the national team. “Shamim has been outstanding, and being named Player of the Match reflects his performance. He proved himself in both matches and showed his capabilities during practice as well. He knows what he needs to do, and it’s great to see him performing.”

Concerns Over Litton’s Batting Form
While Simmons is pleased with Litton Das’s captaincy, he is slightly concerned about his lack of runs. “Litton has made excellent decisions as captain in both matches. He’s leading the team well, but it’s a bit worrying that he isn’t scoring runs. However, not everyone will score every day. Players are always prepared to do their best. I hope he makes a strong comeback in the final match.”
