Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq Lose Selector Roles in Pakistan
Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq Lose Selector Roles in Pakistan
Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq have been removed from the Pakistan national cricket team’s selection committee. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed this in a press release.
The PCB made this decision following Pakistan's poor performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, where Babar Azam's team failed to progress beyond the group stage.
The PCB stated in the press release, "It is hereby announced that the services of Abdul Razzaq and Wahab Riaz are no longer required in the national team's selection committee. Details regarding the reformation of the selection committee will be announced in due course."
Abdul Razzaq was a member of both the men's and women's selection committees, while Wahab Riaz served on the men's selection committee.
The remaining five members of Pakistan's selection committee include the coach, captain, Mohammad Yousuf, Asad Shafiq, and Bilal Afzal (data analyst).
