Zimbabwe Secures Thrilling Two-Wicket Win Over Pakistan in Final Over

In a dramatic final over, Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan by two wickets, preventing a clean sweep in the T20 series. Batting first, Pakistan posted a total of 132 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In response, Zimbabwe successfully chased down the target with one ball remaining.

To win in the final over, Zimbabwe needed 12 runs. Tinotenda Mutombodzi, with an explosive start, hit a four and a six off the first two balls bowled by Jahanzad Khan, bringing the team to the brink of victory. Despite losing a wicket, Zimbabwe reached the target with one ball to spare.

In Thursday’s match in Bulawayo, Pakistan struggled against Zimbabwe's bowlers after coming to bat. Salman Aga top-scored for Pakistan with 32 runs from 32 balls, while Arafat Minhas made 22, Taib Tahir scored 21, and Qasim Akram contributed 20 runs.

Blessing Muzarabani was the star bowler for Zimbabwe, taking 2 wickets, while Masakadza and Ngara both claimed 1 wicket each.

Chasing a modest target, Zimbabwe started off strong, with their opening partnership contributing 40 runs. After Marumani was dismissed, Brian Bennett formed a 33-run partnership with Dion Myers. Bennett made a vital contribution, scoring 43 runs off 35 balls, including 6 fours and 1 six.

However, a series of quick wickets allowed Pakistan to take control of the match. But a resilient finish by Tinotenda Maposa with the bat helped Zimbabwe secure a thrilling victory in the final over.
